You Pick
Time is flying and there is so much to do before our You Pick begins this Thursday, June 2.
David has been busy beginning the build of our drying shed addition to the barn, as well as hanging signs to let people see how to get here. He also had a concrete entrance poured for the Farm and Field entrance.
I’m finishing up my year of teaching as well as continuing to produce product and getting everything organized. I will tell you things you need to know when you come to visit us for the You Pick this year.
This first year, we will have 4 varieties to pick (as they are ready). Our Hidcote and Munstead will be ready first as they are Angustafolia varieties. Our Grosso and Phenomenal varieties will be ready later in June, so if they are your favorites, you might want to come later in the month.
I am not charging for entrance to the field this first year. I will provide the tools you need to pick your bundle, and you will be charged according to size. 1.5 inch bundles are $10.00 and 2 inch bundles are $15.00. Before you head to the rows, I will instruct you on how to cut and provide you with a rubber band for securing your bundle when you finish.
We do not have a restroom this year, as our barn is unfinished. Please make use of the facilities in town before you head out.
We love our Golden doodle, but will not have him out in the field with us on You Pick days. We ask that you do not bring your pets as well.
No alcohol, drugs or smoking is permitted on our farm.
We encourage you to take pictures while you’re here, but no professional photographers will be admitted during You-Pick.
Please remember that this is a working farm. We make every attempt to ensure safety, but there may be uneven places, so watch where you step. If you see a snake, please keep your distance and inform us so we can remove it. * I have never seen one when I’m working the lavender, but you never know.
